Lantern has room to explore today, with space reserved outside the current borders for terrain from future Minecraft updates.

- 10,000 × 10,000 5,000 blocks in each direction
- Nether
- 5,000 × 5,000 2,500 blocks in each direction
- End
- 5,000 × 5,000 2,500 blocks in each direction
Future expansions
When Minecraft adds new biomes, structures, or other world generation, Lantern will expand the borders over time instead of resetting the world. Newly opened areas can then generate using the newer version.
